Benefits of inhalation therapies
Inhalation therapy occupies the central role in the treatment of horse respiratory diseases. It represents the most effective and safe way of therapy for treatment of breathing diseases. Through the use of the device containing atomized medicine it is possible to act directly on target organ. The therapeutic efficacy depends on number of factors that includes the correct diagnosis, the choice of drugs, method of inhalation. The correct use of devices for inhalation therapy is essential to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment and the correct approach to the disease. The ultrasonic atomizer spreads the drug solution into an aerosol suitable for the inhalation. Aerosol particles size are in the range of 0,5 - 5 microns. This is the specific quality ensuring a good aerosol distribution and its long retention within lungs.
When to be used
The inhalation therapy is used to treat various diseases which could arose in the long horse respiratory tract such as: recurrent airway obstruction, inflammatory airway disease, seasonal coughs, post race for the lung recovery. The most common drugs used for inhalation are bronchodilators. The inhalation allows direct contact of the drug with a large area of bronchial tree and the drug can quickly achieve its effect. The inhalation can be done with or without mask according to the prescription given by veterinary.
Two methods of application
PROFI SONIC A ultrasonic atomizer can be used in 2 ways:
Directly coupled to a horse mask - which provides effective therapy as there is no aerosol spillage
In a custom cabin or horse trailer where a hose would be placed in front of the horse and the aerosol sprayed into the space
For larger spaces or to treat more horses at the same time, we recommend using PRIZnano A.
